Q: Who are you, and how did your journey into modeling and fashion begin?
Christine Kariuki: My name is Christine Kariuki. I am a lover of the good things in life—especially fashion, style, traveling, and cooking. My journey into modeling and fashion began with a deep interest in style and creativity. At first, it was just something I enjoyed: following trends, experimenting with different looks, and appreciating how fashion can tell a story. As time went on, my interest grew stronger and I became curious about the modeling industry. I decided to pursue it seriously, learning more about the craft, building my portfolio, and growing my confidence in front of the camera. Honestly, if my mum and aunts could speak about it, they would say I have loved fashion since I was very young—it has always been an inbuilt passion.
Q: What inspires your love for fashion and modeling?
Christine Kariuki: I was inspired by the way fashion tells a story without words. Seeing different styles, trends, and models expressing confidence made me curious about the industry. Over time that curiosity turned into a passion because modeling combines creativity, confidence, and self-expression.
Q: How would you describe your personal style?
Christine Kariuki: I love elegance and class. I am drawn to outfits that scream confidence while still looking stylish and refined. My style is influenced by current fashion trends, but most importantly by my love to express myself through fashion.
Q: What challenges have you faced in the Kenyan modeling industry?
Christine Kariuki: One challenge in Kenya is that many brands tend to work with the same people repeatedly. Sometimes it feels like you need to know someone in the industry to get opportunities, which can make it difficult for new faces to break through.
Q: Which fashion trends inspire you the most?Christine Kariuki: I’m inspired by minimal and modern styles. I love clean, elegant outfits that are simple but still fashionable. Street style also inspires me because it allows people to express their individuality and creativity.
Q: What are your goals for the future in modeling and fashion?Christine Kariuki: My goal is to grow professionally, work with well-known brands, and build a strong portfolio. I also want to use modeling as a platform to inspire confidence and creativity in others.
